Craig W. Andersen of West Nyack, and a life-long resident of Rockland County died at home on Thursday, December 9, 2004 surrounded by his loving family. He was 57 years old. Craig was born on November 6, 1947 in Nyack Hospital to Anton and Virginia Andersen. He attended West Nyack Elementary School and graduated from Clarkstown High School in 1965. He was active in his class' reunion committee until the time of his death. He joined the Clarkstown Police Department in 1975 and his career spanned 26 years. During his time in the department he was a field training officer and a competition marksman, earning several event medals and awards for the department. He retired a Sergeant in 2001. In 1986 Craig married Maureen (nee Kelly) and they had two children together. He took great pride and delight in his family and cherished his time with them. In the summer of 2001, he realized his life-long dream of driving cross country with his children and discovering America. Craig is survived by his wife of 18 years, his daughter: Virginia, his son, Craig, in-laws, Justin and Jane Kelly, Justin and Maryann Kelly, Monica Kelly, Elizabaeth and Peter McDonough, Michael and Lucille Kelly, Brian and Diane Kelly, Kathleen Kelly and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Neil Andersen.
